Gerald and Camille Duskin were recognized for their humanitarian work by the City of Las Vegas on January 21, 2009. RECOGNITION OF THE SENIOR OF THE QUARTER AWARD. In the past 4 years Jerry and Camille have donated time and money to sponsor murals and a public arts project on buildings in the Gateway District behind the Stratosphere Hotel. With donations from building owners and a paint company 2 small grants from neighborhood partners fund, the neighborhood has been enhanced. Even the Stupac Community Center youth have helped to paint alley art which has remained graffiti free all of these years. Families and children still enjoy the inspiring and colorful art in their community. In 2007 Jerry and Camille helped 2 city of Las Vegas initiates: To Keep America Beautiful Mural Project and Make A Difference Day Mural Project. They assess the scope of the projects, identified the products needed, prepared the walls for the murals, and mixed the paints. That same year Jerry received the Wells Fargo Jefferson Award for outstanding volunteerism. Jerry and Camille are currently working on a program to promote promising young artists and help young and old learn about the beauty of music and the arts. it is our privilege to recognize Jerry and Camille as Seniors of the Quarter.
